Bogdan Gulyay

Bogdan’s work stands out as singular and uncompromising, marked by rare courage and resilience. With a sharp eye, he peels back the layers of society, dismantling stereotypes and challenging perceptions at every turn.

He lingers on the absurd, the uncommon, and the not understood — echoing Roger Ballen’s words:“My best pictures are the ones I don’t understand.” Bogdan’s vision resonates deeply with this statement, embodying the true Ukrainian spirit: bold, unyielding, and resilient.
To grasp the current reality for Ukrainians is not easy. As Bogdan himself says: “We wake up to the sounds of explosions of air defense at night and continue to live, clinging to reality with the remnants of sanity on the third year of this war.”
He continues: “You discussed projects on a new exhibition with a fellow artist yesterday. Tomorrow he’s in the army, and instead of photos from the studio his Instagram now shows pictures of weapons and army life.”

His photographs, rather than imposing meaning, drift alongside the nonsense of reality — because, as Pavlo Makov reminds us: “You’ll never save the world with art, but it will help you survive your life.”

His work will soon be published as a limited-edition Gomma book — a title we will strive to turn into a sought-after collectible.

The winning series will be published as a limited-edition Gomma Books / gommalabs title.

Ingeborg Everaerd

Can love surface through photography? In Ingeborg Everaerd it can.
Her series is not only an intimate and honest portrait of a man, but also an act of love.

“This is a personal story reflecting on my friendship with Steen, a truly remarkable man who sadly passed away last year.”
Through her lens, his unbound, nomadic life is remembered in its final bloom — a dialogue across time that captures both freedom and fragility with rare tenderness.
